The Royal Fontevraud abbey
It was originally built as a double monastery, with both monks and nuns on the same site. Henry II, Eleanor of Aquitaine and Richard the Lionheart are all buried there.

The Azay le Rideau château
The castle is built on an island in the middle of the Indre under the patronage of François Ier. A subtle alliance of French traditions and innovative decorations from Italy, it is an icon of the new art of building in the Val-de-Loire in the 16th century.
The Montgeoffroy château
Smaller and less well known is Chateau de Montgeodffroy. this chateau is superb as all of its furnishings. It provides a glimpse into everyday life among the privileged few just before the outbreak of the Revolution.The stables include period carriages and tack as well as photos of visits by the Royal Family.
